OpenClaw server setup — made easy.

This guide is designed for teams that want a clean, repeatable deployment path. Use it as a self-serve setup, or ask us to implement it for you with monitoring, backups, and secure defaults.

Recommended baseline

Ubuntu 24.04 LTS, a dedicated non-root user, automatic security updates, and a locked-down firewall.

Deployment options

Choose a Docker-based setup for portability, or a native install for maximum simplicity. Both paths should include a system service for auto-restart.

Networking + firewall

Open only the ports you need. Put the admin interface behind authentication or a private network. Use a reverse proxy for TLS.

TLS/SSL (production)

Terminate TLS via a reverse proxy (e.g. Nginx/Caddy) and issue certificates automatically. Enforce HTTPS and secure headers.

Backups + monitoring

Enable automated backups and uptime checks. Track CPU/RAM/disk usage and set alert thresholds so issues are caught early.

Handover checklist

Document access, credentials rotation, restore procedure, update cadence, and incident response contacts.
