Hermes Agent server setup — made easy.
Deploy Hermes Agent on your own VPS — an autonomous agent with persistent memory, scheduled automations, and multi-platform messaging. Use this guide for self-serve setup, or ask us to implement it for you.
Recommended baseline
Ubuntu 24.04 LTS, a dedicated non-root user, automatic security updates, and a locked-down firewall.
Install + configure
Install via the official script, then run hermes setup to connect messaging platforms (Telegram, Discord, Slack, WhatsApp, Signal, Email, or CLI).
Gateway + messaging
Configure the Hermes gateway for your channels. Keep admin interfaces behind authentication or a private network. Use a reverse proxy for TLS.
Sandboxing
Hermes supports multiple sandbox backends — local, Docker, SSH, Singularity, and Modal. Pick the isolation level that matches your workload.
TLS/SSL (production)
Terminate TLS via a reverse proxy (e.g. Nginx/Caddy) and issue certificates automatically. Enforce HTTPS and secure headers.
Backups + monitoring
Back up persistent memory, skills, and configuration. Monitor CPU/RAM/disk usage and set alert thresholds for unattended automations.
Want a managed Hermes Agent deployment?
We can ship a pre-configured VPS with Hermes installed, gateway channels wired up, sandboxing enabled, and monitoring in place — aligned to your requirements.
